The Westlake Village Symphony (WVS) incorporated as an independent entity in April 2016 and was granted tax -exempt status under IRC 501 (c)(3) as of the date of incorporation. However, prior to 2016, the Westlake Village Symphony (as a branch of the Pacific Pearl Music Association) produced many concerts in a variety of locations in and around the Conejo Valley.
During the years 2012 to 2015, WVS was a major contributor each year to the annual Chinese Moon Festival at Samuelson Chapel, Cal Lutheran University. We also produced the Community Concert Series at venues such as the Thousand Oaks Library, the Camarillo Library, University Village, Ascension Lutheran Church, St Mel’s Catholic Church in Woodland Hills, the Oaks Mall, and the Hillcrest Center for the Arts in Thousand Oaks.
Over the history of this orchestra from 2016 through 2019, WVS has delivered from 5 to 7
concerts per year. The Covid 19 Pandemic and required lockdowns brought us up short in
March of 2020, and we were unable to practice as an orchestra or to perform public concerts for more than a year. As the pandemic is gradually conquered, we hope to resume our regular rehearsals and invite all music lovers to join us for inexpensive public concerts of great music brought to safe local settings.
